The IBM i Access for Windows OLE DB Providers, along with the Programmer's Toolkit, make IBM i client/server application development quick and easy from the Windows client PC. The IBM i Access for Windows OLE DB Provider component gives IBM i programmers record-level access interfaces to IBM i logical and physical DB2® for i database files. In addition, they provide support for SQL, data. Jan 19, 2006 Microsoft is making the OLEDB provider for DB2 available for download. The Microsoft OLE DB Provider for DB2 is a COM library for connecting to IBM DB2 databases. It is licensed for use with solutions based on Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Enterprise Edition and Developer Edition.
I have written a Windows Forms application in C#,.NET framework 2.0, that uses System.Data.OleDb to talk to an SQL Server 2000 database, which is working fine. I now need to enhance the application to talk to an database on. Is this just a matter of configuring the connection string, or do I need additional driver software (where from) and/or references in my project?I would like to still use OLEDB, but with DB2.Edit: I downloaded the but was unable to install it onto my desktop development PC because I do not have SQL Server installed. This provider seems to be only for integrating SQL Server with DB2, whereas I want to integrate a Windows Forms application with DB2. Is there a different download location for an OLE DB provider that does not require SQL Server, which I can use from a Windows desktop?
Anyone has experience using OLEDB connection for DB2 database? I've created a process which use standard 'Data - OLEDB' Business Objects sending the Connection String. ' Provider=IBMDADB2;Database=mydatabase;Hostname=myhostname;Protocol=TCPIP;Port=3205;Uid=myuserid;Pwd=mypassword;' (right names have been replaced) but it seems something is not working properly, bacause I received the following message.
' Internal: Could not execute code stage because exception thrown by code stage: Unspecified error'.I've also installed IBM Data Server Client and IBM Data Server Driver Package on my PC where BluePrism version 5 is installed. Any clue about how to solve this?Thank you in advance. Anyone has experience using OLEDB connection for DB2 database?
